THE BOW OF THE ROMAGNA
The History
Description:
The guide-rope we follow as we descend takes us directly to the bow of the wreck of the Romagna. The wreck looks almost like a pyramid as it rises out of the sandy seabed at a depth of 43 metres (The dive itself has a depth of approximately 40 metres)
We can clearly see the hawse (the hoe the anchor chain goes through) and as we swim round the bow we can see the twisted hatch of the hold where the chains were stored. In the twisted metal we can see a multitude of striped bream and the occasional conger eel. Returning to the guide rope we head back to the surface, with a decompression stop
en-route.
Arrivederci Prua.
